Tim and Carrie Jalonen are our best friends. We met way back in our Navy days when Tim join the USS Georgia blue crew, machinery division. We have known each other for more than 20 years and have grown to be very close sharing many of life’s challenges and triumphs together. It is rare to have such great friends and I really appreciate them.

This photo shows me commenting on a presentation at the naval undersea warfare center museum at Keyport. This was a very special event because both my parents and Stephenie’s parents went to the museum with us. They got a glimpse into the Navy life and life aboard a submarine. It was great to be able to share that with them.

Spending some quality time hanging out in our backyard around the fire pit with our best friends Tim and Kerry and Stephenie’s mom and dad. In the background you can see all of the kids play things with a huge trampoline an outdoor playset. Good times good times!

Growing up family reunions were a huge deal. We would get together on a summer day and have lots of food and laughs as well as play softball and a horseshoes and other outdoor games. In the center of the picture is grandma and grandpa woodworth and I think I’m somewhere on the bottom left. We all look so young and happy… It would be great to have a family reunion again.

All of these guys except for the one in the middle were part of the machinery vision and we worked many long hours and several underwater deployments together. The one in the middle is an officer who we actually liked because he had common sense and stood up for his guys.

If you know you know! These are my favorite type of cookies that my mom made many times as I was growing up and my wife continues to make, they are called no bake cookies. A simple concoction of chocolate, peanut butter and rolled oats and I’m sure there’s some other magic in there (Or maybe crack), but they are delicious.
